My Vintage Barbie Doll
Welcome to my web site where you will find a large selection of vintage Barbie dolls, baby dolls, action figures, character dolls and toys in my collection Users often ask me how did I get such a huge collection of Dolls?
My collecting began in 1974 with old used baby dolls. I always loved dolls but never really owned any since I was a child. But the passion would take hold again as i discovered dolls at swap meets, estate and yard sales.
I would find a treasure bring it home and restore and clean it.
In 1974 I decided to really focus on my passion of collecting dolls and toys.
I began collecting all the Barbie dolls, character dolls and toys displayed on my web site here at YeOldeGifts.com.
I didn’t know much about collecting so I purchased several books on doll values and identification and began studying and researching.
My first book was Patricia Smith 1st edition doll values book. To my joy and excitement, I possessed a large number of the dolls displayed in her book! Since then I have purchased more books and continued to add more dolls to my growing collection.
It was satisfying and fun for me to learn about and identifly dolls of of all types including the popular Barbie doll. I had a few old Barbie’s in my collection but my passion was still baby dolls.
Everything changed when in 1991 my granddaughter Camie was born. That was really the beginning of collecting on a larger scale to include Barbie dolls.
By this time due to extensive research I had acquired a tremendous amount of knowledge about Barbie dolls. I discovered that I loved to dress up my Barbies and display them throughout my home.
With my passion for Barbie’s firmly getting a hold on me, I started collecting the more expensive dolls which I kept in their original boxes. I had learned that the value of the dolls increased when you had the original. Collectors prize dolls that remain in the box and they have more value in original box.
My doll collection hobby has brought me great enjoyment. If I had to pick my favorite Barbie doll it would be difficult to decide as I have over 500 Barbie’s in my collection currently.
No longer do I add to my collection, because I would have to buy a bigger home just to have a place for the dolls. And I do not have as much time anymore because I’m currently raising and home schooling my granddaughter.
I have shared my knowledge of collecting Barbie’s and baby dolls with my granddaughter and now she enjoys and appreciates and collects them too.
There are a number of dolls in my collection that still remain unidentified and I am still researching and looking for information about them.

Be sure to check out my Disney and Anastasia dolls too, when my granddaughter was 7 years old I took her to see the movie Anastasia. This prompted me to buy the dolls (20th Century Fox. Galoob) to add to my huge collection and to my granddaughter’s toy chest as well. My dolls are still in their original boxes, my granddaughter played with hers.
Then as more Disney movies premiered, we went to all the movies and of course I just had to have the dolls too.
The Disney catalogues that were sent to me added even more wonderful and magical Disney dolls to my home. While watching television one day I saw the commercial for the beautiful Bob Mackie Barbie dolls and of course had to have them too.
My collection of dolls is so large that I am unable to pinpoint exactly how many I own.
What you see on my web site is only a fraction of my current collection. I will be adding more and more dolls to the site.
